Before we head to the benefits, we want to make one thing very clear.

                                                       DISCLAIMER

Neither the American Heart Association nor the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute recommends you to start taking alcohol just to prevent disease. Alcohol can be addictive and can lead to serious health problems or even aggravate some.

Red wine helps in  :

Protecting your Heart -

Heart disease is the biggest killer in the US and one of the biggest killers throughout the western world. Studies suggest that having one alcoholic drink a day can reduce your risk of heart disease by up to 1/4 and make you more likely to survive and be able to enjoy your life after a heart attack. But the line is very thin: more than 21 drinks a week for men or 14 drinks a week for women can actually increase your risk of heart attack.

How it Works -The antioxidants in red wine can increase the levels of good cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein, or HDL). This prevents cholesterol build-up, preventing heart disease. The polyphenols in red wine, especially resveratrol, can protect the linings of the blood vessels in your heart.

Lower your cholesterol

High-fiber Tempranillo red grapes—which are used to make certain red wines, like Rioja—may actually have a significant effect on cholesterol levels

How it works-
Low-density lipoprotein, or LDL cholesterol, is commonly called bad cholesterol since it makes the buildup of cholesterol and blockage in your arteries more likely, increasing your risk for heart disease. Consuming the antioxidant resveratrol, which is found in red wine, may decrease LDL cholesterol

Slow the Ageing process

Drinking one or two glasses of red wine with dinner will help your skin stay youthful and beautiful.

How it works-
Researchers have found that red wine’s magical compound resveratrol and the SIRT1 gene, also found in red wine, are definitely linked to increased health and a longer life span.

Reduces Stress

2 to 7 glasses of red wine a week might reduce depression. The same research also suggests that exceeding the limit, conversely, can cause depression ,so keepn an eye on your intake

How it works-

And yes, it is resveratrol again. This compound in red wine stimulates a particular protein that activates certain genes that repair DNA, suppresses the tumor genes, and promotes longevity genes

Despite red wine being linked with some health benefits, none of them are worthy of encouraging alcohol consumption.

There are many other effective ways to improve your health that don't require you to consume something that can be harmful
